Hołub-Kowalik's breakthrough came at the 2002 Junior World Championships, where she won a silver medal in the double sculls with Patrycja Pytel. She continued her success at the Under-23 World Championships in 2007, earning a bronze medal with Kamila Soćko.

From 2008 to 2009, Hołub-Kowalik paired with Natalia Madaj, securing their first adult medal at the European Championships. From 2009 to 2012, she partnered with Julia Michałska. The duo's gold medal at the 2009 World Championships marked Poland's first gold in Olympic rowing, earning them the Order of Polonia Restituta.
Resilience and Triumph
Despite setbacks in the lead-up to the 2012 Summer Olympics, Hołub-Kowalik and Michałska won a bronze medal in the double sculls. Hołub-Kowalik later returned to partnering with Madaj.
