Biography of Maximiliano Lopez

Maximiliano (Maxi) Gastón Lopez was born on April 3, 1984, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is an Argentine footballer who plays as a forward. Currently, he is a player for the football club "Moscow" in the Russian Premier League.

Early Career and Success at River Plate

Maxi Lopez began his career in 1997 at the age of 17 with River Plate. He made his debut for the senior team and quickly established himself as their top striker. During his time at River Plate, the club won the Torneo Clausura in 2002, 2003, and 2004 with Lopez as their key player.

Stint at Barcelona

In January 2005, Barcelona signed Maxi Lopez for €6.2 million after Henrik Larsson's injury. Although he made his debut for the team against Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League, he did not become a regular player. He left Barcelona in the 2006-2007 season and went on loan to Mallorca, where he struggled to meet expectations, scoring only 2 goals in 25 matches.

Move to FC Moscow
