Early Life and Club Career

Born in Olivos, Argentina, Manuel Lanzini started his football journey in the youth academy of River Plate. In 2008, he signed his first professional contract with the club.

Loan Spell and Transfer to West Ham United

In 2011, Lanzini embarked on a year-long loan to Fluminense in Brazil. After returning to River Plate, he played a key role in the club's 2014 Argentine Primera División championship triumph. On August 10, 2014, he made a surprise move to Al-Jazira in the United Arab Emirates.

On July 23, 2015, Lanzini joined West Ham United on a season-long loan with an option to buy. His impressive performances during the loan spell convinced the Hammers to exercise their buyout clause for a reported fee of €12 million on March 22, 2016.

International Career

Lanzini earned his first senior international call-up for Argentina in 2016 for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. However, he suffered an injury just days before the tournament's start and was replaced by Cristian Pavon.

He made his debut for the national team in March 2018 in a friendly against Italy. His first international goal came in the same year in a World Cup warm-up match against Haiti.
