Biography of Marco Asensio

Marco Asensio is a Spanish footballer of Basque-Dutch origin, who plays as a midfielder for Real Madrid and the Spanish national team. He was born in a Spanish-Dutch family and was raised in the Mallorca club. On October 27, 2013, he made his debut in Segunda Division against Recreativo. On March 16, 2014, in a match against Tenerife, Marco scored his first goal for Mallorca. In December 2014, Asensio signed a contract with Real Madrid, which stated that he would become a player of the club in the summer of 2015. In August, Marco was loaned to Espanyol by Real Madrid to gain playing experience. On September 19, he made his debut in La Liga against Real Sociedad. On February 20, 2016, in a match against Deportivo La Coruna, he scored his first goal for Espanyol. In the summer of 2016, after his loan spell, Marco returned to Real Madrid. National Team Career

In 2015, Asensio won the UEFA U19 European Championship in Greece as part of the Spanish youth national team. In the tournament, he played against the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Russia twice. In the semi-final against France, Marco scored a brace. On May 29, 2016, in a friendly match against Bosnia and Herzegovina, Asensio made his debut for the Spanish national team.

In 2017, as part of the Spanish U21 national team, Asensio won the silver medal at the U21 European Championship in Poland. In the tournament, he played against Macedonia, Portugal, Italy, and Germany. In the match against Macedonia, Marco scored a hat-trick. It was his first hat-trick in his career.
