Biography of Marco Ballotta
Marco Ballotta, an Italian footballer, is known for being the oldest player to have ever played in the Serie A and the UEFA Champions League. Despite his achievements, he never represented the national team. Towards the end of his career, Ballotta played for the eighth division Italian club "Calkara" but in a forward position. Born in the municipality of Casalecchio di Reno, in the Emilia-Romagna region, Ballotta joined the youth system of the club "Bologna" before making his debut in professional football for his hometown club, "Boca Lazzaro." In the summer of 1984, he joined "Modena" where he stayed for the next six years. In January 1991, he was sold to "Cesena" but only remained there for six months before being purchased by "Parma," who also played in Serie A. Ballotta was in excellent form during the 1992/93 season, and "Parma" won the UEFA Cup, the Cup Winners' Cup, and finished third in the league. However, in the following season, he was not as successful and only made three appearances for the club. He did participate in the victory over "Milan" in the UEFA Super Cup in two matches with a total score of 2-1, but another goalkeeper, Luca Bucci, was on the field for "Crusaders" in the Cup Winners' Cup.
