Marcos Angeleri is an Argentine footballer who plays as a defender for Uruguayan club Nacional. He is known for his versatility and ability to play in multiple positions.
Career
Angeleri made his professional debut in 2002 with Estudiantes de La Plata. He primarily played as a right winger but also occasionally featured as a defensive midfielder. His attacking prowess allowed him to contribute significantly to his team's offense.
Under the guidance of manager Diego Simeone, Angeleri established himself as a key player for Estudiantes. His performances caught the attention of the Argentine national team, and he made his debut in 2009.
European Transfer Rumors
In January 2009, rumors emerged linking Angeleri with several European clubs, including Inter Milan. However, he ultimately remained with Estudiantes until the end of the season.
Copa Libertadores Triumph
In the 2009 Copa Libertadores, Angeleri played a pivotal role in Estudiantes' defense. However, he suffered a serious injury in June, which forced him to sit out the latter stages of the tournament. Estudiantes ultimately won their fourth Copa Libertadores title with Rolando Schiavi replacing Angeleri in the defense.
La Liga Move
