Margaret Colin, an American actress, is known for her activism in the political and social movement 'pro-life'. She is also the honorary co-chair of the feminist organization 'Feminists for Life of America', which opposes abortions.
Margaret Colin was born on May 26, 1957, in Brooklyn, New York, USA. She grew up in Long Island and graduated from Baldwin High School in New York. Daughter of a New York City police officer, she gained attention from viewers in the early 1980s by playing the role of justice advocate 'pharaoh' Margo Montgomery Hughes in the dramatic series 'As the World Turns'.
Acting Career
Continuing to portray law enforcement roles, Colin appeared as a detective in the New York Police Department in the short-lived series 'Wright Verdicts'. Interestingly, the actress did not know how to drive a car when she played one of the main roles in the primetime series 'Leg Work' in 1987, which required her character to tow a Porsche.
Refusing to be typecast solely as a law-abiding citizen, Margaret played a special assistant district attorney in the sitcom 'Foley Square'. She joined the cast of the series 'Sibs' in New York when she was married to soap opera actor Justin Deas, temporarily leaving Los Angeles.
