A Brave Decision: Mariah Serrano's Journey to Success
Mariah Serrano, a young American from Long Island, US, made a bold decision after years of suffering from a congenital foot deformity - to undergo leg amputation. Today, Mariah looks absolutely stunning, confidently wearing high heels and mini skirts without any hesitation or shame in her prosthetic leg. The congenital foot deformity caused Mariah a great deal of pain and suffering throughout her life. As a child, she limped and couldn't run as fast as her peers, and her foot constantly caused her discomfort. The true tragedy began later when Mariah grew up. Like many girls, she dreamt of a modeling career from childhood, and her appearance was perfect for it, except for one problem - her damaged leg and the constant necessity of wearing sneakers instead of shoes. Despite undergoing five surgeries, Mariah couldn't overcome her limp. The deformed foot seemed to shatter Mariah's dream of wearing high-heeled shoes, which she was passionate about. When a doctor advised her to give up on her modeling career, Mariah was devastated. It was then that she discovered another, radical solution to her problem - complete amputation of the damaged part of her leg, specifically the knee. Mariah didn't hesitate for long and agreed to the amputation. The main reason behind her decision was her desire to wear high-heeled shoes, which she couldn't live without. Interestingly, Mariah's mother, Patricia, was horrified by this idea. Even though her daughter had a deformed leg, it still allowed her to move around perfectly. Patricia refused to understand how someone could choose a prosthetic leg over a real one, while Mariah had already made up her mind - the leg had to be amputated. The surgery was successful but had a few complications, and Mariah's rehabilitation was not as quick as she had hoped.
Overcoming Challenges and Finding Happiness
Following the amputation, Mariah had to learn how to balance her body in a new way and adapt to using a prosthetic limb. Despite all the trials, Mariah felt happy - the cursed foot that had plagued her childhood was no longer a part of her. Moreover, she began dreaming about glamorous prosthetics, which she discovered could be absolutely fabulous. Today, Mariah owns ten pairs of high-heeled shoes, which means she has ten different prosthetics for different occasions. Mariah feels truly content. She claims that no one ever dares to ask her about her leg. In fact, she actively wears short skirts and confidently shows off her prosthetic leg by wearing tights or stockings over it. Mariah looks back on her childhood without much warmth - her mean-spirited peers constantly teased her for her limp and called her "Peg Leg." Eventually, she even left school and switched to homeschooling. She remembers feeling envious when she saw her well-dressed friends wearing high heels. Now, Mariah has a variety of footwear choices with her ten different prosthetic legs. She is pursuing her passion for fashion by studying at the renowned New York's Fashion Institute of Technology and has already landed her first job in the modeling world as an assistant at the American clothing company, "Betsey Johnson." Mariah admits that agreeing to the amputation was the most difficult decision she has ever made, but she has never regretted it. Despite the months of rehabilitation and occasional moments of fear and regret, she has finally achieved her dream - stepping into the fashion world in high-heeled shoes.
