Marie Tamarelle-Verhaeg: Early Life and Career
Marie Tamarelle-Verhaeg was born on September 27, 1962, in Le Petit-Quevilly, France. She graduated from the National School of Health in Rouen. From 1993 to 2006, she worked in the healthcare system, collaborating with local authorities, medical and social organizations on health education projects. She specialized in training professionals on the integration of children with disabilities. In 2006, she became chief medical officer of the Havre Center for Prevention and Public Health.
Political Career
In 2015, Tamarelle-Verhaeg joined the Union of Democrats and Independents (UDI). In March of that year, she and Benoît Gatinet won the election to the newly created Departmental Council of Eure, representing the canton of Bourg-Achard. She was elected vice-president of the Council, responsible for autonomy, the elderly, and the disabled.
In February 2017, after her party officially endorsed François Fillon as the right-wing candidate in the presidential election, Tamarelle-Verhaeg left the UDI to join Emmanuel Macron's En Marche! movement, which aligned more closely with her centrist values. In May 2017, she was nominated as the En Marche! candidate in the 3rd constituency of Eure for the National Assembly election, and subsequently resigned from her position as vice-president of the Eure Departmental Council. On June 18, 2017, she defeated the candidate of the National Front in the second round of the election, receiving 59.29% of the vote.

In the National Assembly, Marie Tamarelle-Verhaeg is a member of the Social Affairs Commission and the Committee for Evaluation and Control of Public Policy. She is also part of the working group on the reform of the National Assembly.
