Valentyna Shevchenko
Early Career and Olympic DebutUkrainian cross-country skier Valentyna Shevchenko made her international debut in 2007, competing in the FIS World Cup. That same year, she achieved her first top-30 finish at a World Cup event. She went on to record a total of four top-30 finishes, two in individual races and two in team events. Her best overall World Cup ranking was 74th in the 2007-08 season.
Shevchenko represented Ukraine at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, participating in four races. She finished 37th in the 10km freestyle, did not finish the 7.5km + 7.5km duathlon, took 14th in the team sprint, and 13th in the relay.
World Championships and Later Career
Throughout her skiing career, Shevchenko competed in three FIS World Championships. Her highest achievement was an 11th place in the relay at the 2009 World Championships in Liberec, Czech Republic. In individual races, her best result was 30th place.
Shevchenko is known for using Fischer brand skis and Salomon boots and bindings.
