Biography of Mark Bailey
Mark Bailey is an American football player who played as a defender in the Football League for Rochdale, Lincoln City, and Macclesfield Town. He is the son of former Port Vale player Terry Bailey. Mark was born in Stoke-on-Trent and started playing football for the local team. In October 1996, he joined Rochdale on a free transfer. He made his league debut against Torquay United on December 3, 1996, and by the end of March, he was already a regular part of the team.

In 1997 and 1998, Mark solidified his position in the team, appearing in 24 league matches as a starter and 9 matches as a substitute. By the 1998-1999 season, Mark was considered a permanent member of the starting lineup. However, he was benched at the beginning of October and eventually dropped from the first team by mid-December. In January 1999, Mark attracted the attention of Northwich Victoria manager Mark Gardiner, who was interested in signing him on loan. Unfortunately, a knee tendon injury prevented the loan move. Nonetheless, Mark eventually returned to Rochdale and made his league comeback in March 1999 after a four-month absence.
Unfortunately, Mark's time at Rochdale was short-lived as the club released him at the end of the season after only four matches. Mark spent the 1999-2000 season training with Northwich Victoria, and it was the club's management that recommended him to Winsford United. He made his debut for Winsford United on August 21, 1999, and scored his first goal a week later. In November 1999, Mark joined Lincoln City and made his debut for the new team on November 12. Throughout these transfers, Mark was closely monitored by agents from Northwich Victoria, including manager Mark Gardiner. Eventually, Gardiner managed to offer Mark a lucrative contract and the opportunity to work close to home.
In 2000, Mark left Lincoln City and joined Northwich Victoria. He returned to Lincoln City in 2001 and remained with the club until June 2004. In 2004, it was announced that Mark would sign a contract with Macclesfield Town. However, he did not achieve much success with the new team as he was plagued by unfortunate injuries.
In August 2006, Mark signed a contract with Peterborough United. In the same year, he also signed a contract with Stafford Rangers. Both contracts expired in 2007.
