Early Life and Career

Bouris started from humble beginnings and credits his parents, George and Marsha Bouris, for instilling in him discipline and other qualities that allowed him to break free from Punchbowl, a working suburb of Sydney, and lead the board of directors of one of the world's largest companies.

Wizard Home Loans

Bouris founded 'Wizard Home Loans' in 1996 and sold it to 'GE Money' for half a billion dollars in 2004. Subsequently, 'GE Money' sold its recent acquisition to one of its competitors, 'Aussie Home Loans', for the same $500 million during the height of the global financial crisis in December 2008.

Other Ventures

On June 18, 2009, Bouris became the chairman of the investment-industrial company 'TZ Limited'. Currently, he serves as the chairman of the board of directors of 'Yellow Brick Road', a company that operates in financial planning, financial consulting, asset management, and mortgage lending. In addition, Mark sits on the board of directors and supports the 'Sydney Roosters', a rugby team in the National Rugby League of Australia.

In August 2011, Mark was appointed as the non-executive chairman of 'Anteo Diagnostics', an Australian biotechnology company that develops innovative medical diagnostic technologies. He also serves as the non-executive chairman of 'Serena Resources Limited', an Australian company focused on copper mining and processing in Chile.

Public Recognition and Television Career

Mark Bouris first appeared on the 'BRW Rich 200' list of the richest people and families in Australia in 2005 and made the list for the second time in 2007. He gained recognition among Australians as he starred in advertising campaigns for 'Wizard Home Loan' in the late 90s and early 2000s.

Due to his experience in dealing with the media, Bouris was named the host of the Australian version of the American reality show 'The Apprentice' on June 8, 2009. 'The Apprentice Australia' aired in 2009 on the Nine Network, but only lasted one season. When the spin-off program 'The Celebrity Apprentice Australia' premiered in October 2011, Bouris remained as the host.

Unlike its predecessor, 'The Celebrity Apprentice Australia' was a huge success and often made the list of the top 5 most popular programs of the day. In November 2011, the Nine Network announced the renewal of the show for a second season, which began airing in April 2012 with the participation of American actor and singer David Hasselhoff.
