Biography of Mark Famiglietti
Early Life and CareerMark Famiglietti was born in 1979 in Providence, Rhode Island. His childhood was spent in Clinton, Connecticut, where his first interest in the performing arts was sparked during family visits to the Goodspeed Opera House. As a teenager, he realized his dreams by performing on the same stage in the production 'An Evening with Max Showalter and Friends'. For this role, he received his first acting award, the 'Goodspeed Guild Musical Theatre Award'.
During his high school years, Mark was an active student, serving as class president, captain of the baseball team, choir member, and sports commentator. He often landed leading roles in school productions.
Hollywood Career
After becoming a student at New York University, Mark continued to pursue his passion for acting. He put his academic education on hold and ventured to Hollywood after his second semester. Soon, viewers of the NBC Saturday series 'Hang Time' recognized him as the heartthrob Nick Hammer. He went on to shine in the role of Brad in 'Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane', and other TV projects followed, including 'Young Americans', 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation', and 'Fastlane'.
During this time, Famiglietti also appeared in several television movies, including Peter Werner's drama 'We Were the Mulvaneys'. In 2002, he landed a small but noticeable role in the highly anticipated action film 'Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines', directed by Jonathan Mostow and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Interestingly, Famiglietti's character, Scott Petersen, had to wear platform shoes throughout filming because his co-star Kristanna Loken was significantly taller than him. In the actual film, the character's surname was changed to Mason due to a legal case involving a Scott Peterson accused of murdering his pregnant wife.
Over the following years, Mark Famiglietti played numerous roles in TV series, including 'Cold Case', 'Without a Trace', 'Eyes', and 'CSI: NY'. Notably, out of the nine episodes of 'Eyes' in which he appeared, only five aired before the show was canceled. He also had roles in the horror film 'Premonition' by Mennan Yapo, the comedy thriller 'Nobel Son' by Randall Miller, and another comedy by Miller, 'Bottle Shock'. In 2009, Famiglietti joined the cast of the TV series 'FlashForward'. He also lent his voice to the animated project 'Bionicle: The Legend Reborn'.
Personal Life and Other Endeavors
Mark Famiglietti is known for his love of sports cars and is the owner of a '73 MGB. In his free time, he plays the bass clarinet, a unique musical instrument. He has also tried his hand at screenwriting, with one of his scripts titled 'Succubus' being purchased by MGM in 2005 but never made into a film.
