Early Life and Education

Mark Lewis Jones was born in the town of Rosllannerchrugog, Wales. He began acting as a teenager at the Clwyd Youth Theatre and went on to study at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.

Theatre Career

Jones has performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company and at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London. His stage credits include roles in "This Life," "Holby City," "Spooks," "Murphy's Law," "Waking the Dead," and "Torchwood." He also played Detective Ray Lloyd in the police drama "Murder Prevention."

Film and Television Career

In 2001, Jones played Uther Pendragon's second husband, Igraine, in the American television series "The Mists of Avalon." He is perhaps best known for his role as Captain Moden Canady in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." He appears in the film's opening scenes and has said that he played the part with a "posh Welsh accent."
