Joining "Sugar Ray"

By 1994, the band changed its name to "Sugar Ray" due to a potential legal dispute with the beverage company "Milton Bradley" over their brand name "Shrinky Dinx". "Sugar Ray" signed a contract with Atlantic Records, but their first album was not successful. The group achieved their first major success in 1997 with the hit single "Fly", which reached the top of the charts.
