Acting Career

In his early career, Varshver played minor roles in several films, including Mark Donskoi's "Nadezhda." He later joined the Moscow Regional Drama Theatre from 1972 to 1979, where he honed his skills as an actor.

"Lenkom" Theatre

A significant turning point came when Varshver met Mark Zakharov, who invited him to join the Moscow State Theatre named after the Leninsky Komsomol (now known as "Lenkom") in 1979. Initially serving as an administrator, Varshver eventually became the theatre's director after completing his economic studies at GITIS.

Leadership and Legacy

Under Varshver's leadership, "Lenkom" flourished during the challenging economic reforms of the 1990s. He fostered an environment that allowed Zakharov to create legendary productions such as "Mad Day, or The Marriage of Figaro," "Memorial Prayer," and "Jester Balakirev."
