Biography of Mark Vinokurov
Mark Vladimirovich Vinokurov, a singer, was born on October 30, 1966, in Donetsk, Ukraine, in a working-class family. After completing secondary school and a music school, he enrolled in the Komsomolsky Industrial Technical School. After graduating from the technical school in 1984, he was drafted into the Soviet Army. He served in Moscow, where he decided to stay after completing his military service. Since 1986, he has worked as a musician in restaurants in Moscow.
Currently, Mark Vinokurov is a performer of songs in the "Russian chanson" style. He mentioned that he does not write songs himself but occasionally finds inspiration to dedicate a song to a close person or a friend. In 2000, he wrote a song called "Forget the Offenses," dedicated to his parents who live far away from him. Recently, he also dedicated a song to his daughter Anna called "Cranes." In 1998, a limited edition album titled "Another Man's Woman" was released, featuring songs by both well-known and unknown authors such as Igor Slutsky, Nikita Dobry, Alexander Beskrovny, Mikhail Khokhlov, and others. Unfortunately, due to an unreliable person named Vasily Zhuravlev, who was supposedly Mark's producer, the album was never heard by people.
Currently, Mark is remixing some old songs, but his main focus is on releasing a new album in the "Russian chanson" style, which is being recorded at the Gorlovka Studio "Terminal." Thanks to his friends, Mark plans to record it in the near future. The exact title of the new album is not yet known, but its working title is "Black Currant." Mark Vinokurov is working with a new author and composer, Yuri Solovyov, who also writes for Alexander Marshal, Alexander Kalyanov, and many others. Currently, Mark is also producing the second album of the well-known author and performer, Oleg Vetra.
Mark is currently collaborating with the renowned guitarist and arranger Vladimir Kovalev, who returned from New York in 1993. Prior to his time in America, Vladimir worked with bands such as "Horizon," "Freestyle," Mikhail Muromov, and Vadim Kozachenko. Since 1999, Mark has been touring and giving solo concerts in cities such as Chita, Izhevsk, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Nizhnevartovsk, Gorky, and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
Regarding his work, Mark says, "Mostly, I work in the studio and, of course, perform concerts. Currently, I travel to correctional labor colonies and give charity concerts for the inmates. These are people who understand my songs, as they pass through their hearts."
