Biography of Martha Hyer
Marta Hyer was an American actress and a nominee for an Academy Award in 1959. She was born in Fort Worth, Texas. Marta made her first appearance in a movie at the age of eleven in the film "Thunder Mountain" (1947). After completing her education, she continued her acting career and starred in films such as "Sabrina" (1954), "My Man Godfrey" (1957), "Some Came Running" (1958), "First Men in the Moon" (1964), and many others. Her most significant role came in the film "Some Came Running" (1958), for which she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards.
Marta was married twice. Her first husband was screenwriter and director Ray Stahl (1951-1954), and they divorced. In 1966, Marta married producer Hal B. Wallis, with whom she remained until his death in 1986.
