Early Life and Accident
Italian athlete Martina Caironi was born on July 15, 1989. In 2007, a motorcycle accident resulted in a high-thigh amputation of her left leg.
Athletic Career
Despite adversity, Caironi found her passion in track and field, beginning her professional career in 2010. She competes in the T42 classification for long jump and short-distance running.
Paralympic Achievements
Caironi has achieved remarkable success at the Paralympic Games. In the 100-meter sprint, she has earned two Paralympic gold medals (2012, 2016).
World Championships and European Championships
Beyond the Paralympics, Caironi has also excelled at the World and European Championships. She has won four World Championship titles (2013, 2015, 2017) and four European Championship titles (2014, 2016, 2018 - twice).
