Biography of Marjan Marković
Marjan Marković is a Serbian football player who has played as a defender. He spent three seasons playing for the Ukrainian championship, participating in 37 matches and scoring 2 goals. He also played 11 matches in European cups and 9 matches in the Ukrainian Cup. Marković started his career at the club "Mladi Radnik" before joining the famous Serbian club "Crvena Zvezda" where he became the main right defender. He played 126 matches for the Belgrade team and scored 12 goals. In July 2004, he was sold to the Italian club "Genoa" for £178,000, but he didn't play any matches for the club and returned to Belgrade in January. In July 2005, he transferred to "Dynamo" (Kyiv) after catching the attention of the Kyiv club's management during a tournament in Kyiv while playing for the national team of Serbia and Montenegro. During the tournament, he played 70 minutes in the semi-final match against the Polish national team before being replaced by Ognjen Koroman.
After the end of the 2008 season, Marković requested the termination of his contract from the club's management. FC "Dynamo" agreed to his request and released him as a free agent. In the summer of 2008, he continued his career at "Crvena Zvezda". He has played 16 matches for the national team. Marković made his debut for the Serbian and Montenegrin national team on April 17, 2002, in a match against the Ukrainian national team. He has also played for various youth teams, playing 15 matches and scoring 3 goals for the U-21 national team. In a match against the Russian youth team in the European Championship qualifying match, he scored a goal. Marković has achieved several titles throughout his career, including being the Champion of Ukraine in 2007, the Silver Medalist of the Ukrainian Championship in 2006, the winner of the Ukrainian Cup in 2006 and 2007, the winner of the Ukrainian Super Cup in 2006 and 2007, the Champion of Serbia and Montenegro in 2000, 2001, and 2004, and the winner of the Serbian and Montenegrin Cup in 2000, 2002, and 2004.
