Early Career

Raymond played junior hockey in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) for the University of Minnesota–Duluth. He was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the second round, 51st overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Vancouver Canucks

After playing in the American Hockey League (AHL) for the Manitoba Moose, Raymond joined the Canucks' main roster in the 2007-2008 season. He remained with the team until 2011, making it to the Stanley Cup Finals against the Boston Bruins.

Injury and Recovery

In Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals, Raymond suffered a fractured vertebra after a hit by Boston's Johnny Boychuk. The NHL ruled that the hit was clean, and the Bruins went on to win the Cup in Game 7. Raymond missed several months due to his injury and returned to the Canucks in December 2011.

Later Career

After leaving the Canucks, Raymond signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2013 and the Calgary Flames in 2014. He has since played for several other NHL teams, including the Chicago Blackhawks and Anaheim Ducks.
