Biography of Massimo Ellul
Massimo Ellul is an exceptional Maltese businessman who is actively involved in politics, public service, philanthropy, and, of course, commerce, both in Malta and worldwide. He is an expert in international trade by vocation and education, sought after for his consultations by professionals from Europe and the Middle East.
Education and Academic Achievements
Massimo obtained his diploma in Marketing from Cambridge University in 1991. He furthered his education by earning a master's degree and a doctorate, specializing in marketing in both cases. He later received an honorary doctorate from CIU for his research in medieval history. Ellul has always been known for his incredibly broad range of interests, reflected in his artistic works such as 'The Sword and the Green Cross', 'The Green Eight Pointed Cross', 'Musings of the Soul and The Colours of Life', and 'Theatre of the Mind', which are still available for sale.
Business Ventures and Achievements
Currently, Ellul holds the position of Executive Director in a group of companies operating in Malta, London, Edinburgh, Sicily, and Dubai. He is the only Maltese to be honored with the title of 'Freedom of the Worshipful Company of Marketors of the City of London' and a fellow of the guild. Massimo has actively worked in Scotland, including his role as a member of the 'Friends of Rosslyn' group. He frequently delivers lecture courses in Scotland.
Political Career
While business plays a significant role in Ellul's life, it is by no means his only focus. He devotes considerable time to political activities and holds multiple positions in the Malta Labour Party. He has served as the Secretary of the Youth Committee, International Secretary for Young Socialists, President of the Young Students' Movement, Assistant General Secretary, and Assistant Secretary for Education. Throughout his political career, Ellul has led several important party committees and organized numerous large-scale events. In 1996 and 1998, he ran as a candidate in the Maltese parliamentary elections.
Involvement in Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem
In 2002, Ellul became the Chancellor of the Grand Priory of the Mediterranean of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem and Chairman of the Saint Lazarus Foundation. In 2008, his positions within the Hospitaller Order were further strengthened as he became the Grand Chancellor. He also leads the organization of the annual Malta International Folk Festival.
Commercial and Consulting Activities
Ellul's daughter companies are involved in significant innovative projects in Malta. Thanks to Massimo, talented Maltese musicians have the opportunity to win the hearts of listeners worldwide. However, his primary focus remains on commercial and consulting activities. His advice, along with his analysts, is highly regarded by the Sultan of Oman, rulers of Great Britain, and several Eastern European countries. For his contributions to international activities, Ellul has received numerous international awards and recognition.
