Early Life and Education

Matthew Charles "Matt" Berry was born on May 2, 1974, in Bromham, Bedfordshire. He has an older sister named Johanna. Berry graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 1997 with a degree in fine art.

Television Career

Berry began his television career in 1998, appearing in comedy sketches. His breakthrough role came with the cult comedy series "Garth Marenghi's Darkplace" and its spin-off "Man to Man with Dean Learner." He later appeared as the eccentric and sinister millionaire explorer Dixon Bainbridge in "The Mighty Boosh."

In 2006, Berry wrote and starred in the BBC Three comedy "Snuff Box." He joined the cast of "The IT Crowd" in season 2, which earned him a nomination for "Best Breakthrough Performance" at the British Comedy Awards 2007.
