Early Years and NAHL Success

Matt Dalton's hockey journey began in 2005 with the Bozeman Icedogs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL). In his debut season, he emerged as a league standout, earning the Best Goaltender award after recording a 1.61 GAA in 50 games.

College and Professional Beginnings

Dalton continued to excel in college, playing for the Canisius Golden Griffins from 2005 to 2009. His impressive performances caught the attention of the NHL's Boston Bruins, who signed him to a contract in 2009. However, Dalton was initially assigned to the Providence Bruins of the AHL.

Ice War and Injury

In 2011, Dalton moved to Russia and joined HC Vityaz. During a game against Traktor Chelyabinsk on November 25, he was involved in a massive on-ice fight with fellow player Michael Garnett. Tragedy struck on January 26, 2012, when Dalton suffered a torn ACL in a game against Ak Bars Kazan, forcing him to miss the remainder of the season.

International Recognition and Asian League Success

Despite the setback, Dalton's skills were recognized as he was selected to represent the Republic of Korea at the 2016 World Championships in Poland. That same year, he signed with the Anyang Halla in the Asian Hockey League (AHL). In the 2016 playoffs, he excelled as the MVP, leading his team to the AHL championship and earning him the Best Playoff Goaltender award.
