Breakthrough to the NHL

Klinkhammer's impressive performance with the Rockford IceHogs earned him a promotion to the National Hockey League with the Chicago Blackhawks for the 2010-11 season. However, he struggled to establish himself in Chicago, returning to the IceHogs for the remainder of the year.

Second NHL Attempt and Back to the AHL

Determined to prove his worth, Klinkhammer joined the Ottawa Senators the following season. While he managed two assists in 15 games, he was soon sent back to the AHL's Binghamton Senators.

Time with the Phoenix Coyotes

Klinkhammer spent several seasons with the Phoenix Coyotes, achieving his best NHL performance in the 2013-14 season, when he registered 20 points in 72 regular season games.

Final NHL Stint and Move to Belarus

The 2014-15 season saw Klinkhammer play for multiple NHL teams, including the Arizona Coyotes, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Edmonton Oilers. He landed a one-year contract with the Oilers for the 2015-16 season, splitting time between the NHL and their AHL affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors.

Signing with Dynamo Minsk and Ak Bars Kazan

After six seasons in the NHL, Klinkhammer signed a two-year deal with Belarusian club Dynamo Minsk in 2016. In 2017, he moved to Ak Bars Kazan, also signing a two-year contract.

Olympic Dream Fulfilled

Klinkhammer's remarkable journey culminated in a call-up to represent Canada at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. The moment was a dream come true for the left-wing forward.

Personal Life

Klinkhammer welcomed his son Gunnar Knox in 2015, followed by Axel in 2017. He is married to Jessica Klinkhammer (Taylor).
