Michael Cammalleri

Michael Cammalleri is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays as a center for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Draft and Early Career

Born in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Cammalleri played junior hockey for the Ontario Hockey League's Brampton Battalion. He was drafted 49th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. Cammalleri made his NHL debut with the Kings during the 2002–03 season.

Time with the Kings, Flames, and Canadiens

Cammalleri played six seasons with the Kings before being traded to the Calgary Flames in 2008. He spent one season with the Flames before signing with the Montreal Canadiens in 2009. In Montreal, Cammalleri became one of the team's alternate captains.

Return to Calgary and New Jersey

On January 12, 2012, Cammalleri was traded back to the Flames along with goaltender Karri Ramo and a fifth-round draft pick in exchange for Rene Bourque, Patrick Holland, and a second-round draft pick. After two more seasons in Calgary, Cammalleri signed a five-year, $25 million contract with the New Jersey Devils on July 1, 2014.

Return to Los Angeles and Edmonton

In the summer of 2017, the Devils bought out the final two years of Cammalleri's contract. He subsequently signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Los Angeles Kings. On November 15, 2017, Cammalleri was traded to the Edmonton Oilers for Jussi Jokinen.
