Biography of Matthew Emmons
Matthew Emmons was born on May 5, 1981, in New Jersey. He began seriously pursuing shooting at a young age and has since achieved significant success in the sport. Emmons has competed at both the international and national level, including numerous World Championships and the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. At the 2004 Olympics, Emmons played a crucial role in helping the team bring home the gold medal.
After the Olympics, Emmons took a break from the sport to focus on his studies. However, after receiving his diploma, he returned to shooting and began preparing diligently for the upcoming games in Beijing. Emmons is currently a member of the United States national team, representing his country at the 2008 Summer Olympics in China.
Emmons is determined to achieve an ideal performance and reach the perfect result, something he was unable to accomplish in 2004. Despite spending a significant amount of his time at training ranges, Emmons manages to maintain a well-rounded lifestyle. Apart from shooting, his strongest passions include tourism, fishing, and skiing. He also enjoys playing the electric guitar and has been honing his skills since 2005.
In his free time, Emmons enjoys outdoor activities, often spending time with his wife, Katie. They met at the 2004 Olympics in Athens when she was a member of the Czech Republic team and won a bronze medal. Katie, too, is currently preparing diligently for the upcoming Olympics in Beijing, representing the Czechoslovakia national team. Both Emmons and Katie are currently training at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
Naturally, they both have high hopes for victory in the upcoming games.
