Early Life and Youth Career

Early Life:

Mauro Icardi was born in Rosario, Argentina on February 19, 1993. At the age of six, his family moved to Gran Canaria, one of the Canary Islands in Spain.

Youth Career:

In 2001, Icardi joined the local youth team Vecindario. Over seven years, he scored more than 500 goals. Top clubs like Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Barcelona expressed interest in the talented striker. In 2008, he signed a five-year contract with Barcelona's youth system.

Club Career

Barcelona:

Icardi played for Barcelona's U-17 and U-19 teams, becoming their top scorer and winning the championship, cup, and UEFA Youth League in 2010.

Sampdoria (Loan and Transfer):

On January 11, 2011, Icardi joined Sampdoria on loan. In his first match, he scored the winning goal. After impressing in the youth team, Sampdoria exercised their option to buy Icardi in the summer of 2012 for €400,000.
