Early Life and Musical Beginnings

Kerem Özyeğin was born on September 26, 1977, in Istanbul, Turkey. He is the son of Atilla and Ayla Özyeğin, to whom he dedicated Mor ve Ötesi's album "Büyük Düşler." Kerem studied International Relations at Girne American University.

Early Bands: Spark and Siddhartha

In his teenage years, Özyeğin formed the punk-rock band Spark with friends. They played Nirvana, Sex Pistols, Soundgarden, and Rage Against the Machine covers and wrote original material. In 1993-1996, Spark performed gigs and released demos.

Around this time, Özyeğin briefly joined the psychedelic rock band Siddhartha. They won second place at the Roxy Muzik Günleri music competition in 1996 and released their debut album in 1998.

Crusiana: Jazz-Rock Explorations

In 1996, Özyeğin transitioned to the jazz-rock group Crusiana, where he played bass and provided vocals. Crusiana reached the finals of the Tuborg Rock Festivali in 1996.

Joining Mor ve Ötesi

After leaving Crusiana in 1998, Özyeğin spent a year performing with the rock-n-roll band Taşkı. In 1999, he joined the alternative rock band Mor ve Ötesi, replacing guitarist and vocalist Derin Esmer.

Özyeğin has remained a core member of Mor ve Ötesi since then, serving as lead guitarist and backing vocalist. The band has achieved significant success in Turkey and abroad, releasing numerous albums and performing extensively.
