An Incredible Indonesian Pensioner with Unbelievable Flexibility
Indonesian 'snake man' is always ready to demonstrate his favorite poses, whether it's the 'cobra' or the 'roasted chicken', to make his fans happy. The elderly Indonesian, nicknamed the 'rubber man', never stops showcasing his unique abilities, bending his body in the most incredible positions. Pensioner Mbah Bedjan, from North Kalimantan province, is so flexible that he can fold his body in half and squeeze through a tube with a diameter of 50 cm.
Unique Poses: The "Roasted Chicken" and the "Cobra"
One of the amazing poses that the 68-year-old grandfather is still able to perform is called the 'roasted chicken'. Lying on his back, Bedjan rotates his knees 180 degrees and places his legs under his stomach. For another pose, the 'cobra', the Indonesian lies face down and props his hips on his sides.
Extraordinary Flexibility Discovered at an Early Age
Medicine has yet to explain Bedjan's excessive flexibility, which he discovered at the age of 11 while fishing with friends. It took him some time to fully realize that his flexibility was a unique talent, not a dangerous pathology or cause for concern. Mbah, a father of 12 children, stated, "I accidentally twisted my leg when I was checking my sole. My friends asked me what had happened to me. They asked how I managed to twist my leg like that. I replied, 'What are you talking about?' And then one of my friends enlightened me. He said that the soles of my feet were facing my face."
A Career in Show Business
Bedjan began showcasing his talents to the public in the mid-1970s when he was in his early twenties. His incredibly spectacular 'tricks' with his flexible body helped the Indonesian earn a decent living. Even today, the pensioner performs acts that shock unprepared viewers. For example, Mbah is able to twist both of his legs under his chin. He claims that he doesn't feel any pain at all when experimenting with his body.
A Celebrity in His Hometown
Bedjan retired from show business in 2001 but remains a celebrity in his native province. The Indonesian is more than happy when someone asks him to perform one of his tricks.
