M'Baye Niang: A Senegalese Striker with a Journeyed Career

Early Life and Career

M'Baye Niang, a Senegalese forward, was born in Meaux, France, on December 19, 1994, to parents from Senegal. His football journey commenced at age seven with local club Le Mée-sur-Seine. In 2003, he joined Poissy, where he honed his skills for four years. Niang's talent caught the eye of scouts from Caen, and he entered their academy at 13.

Professional Debut and Early Success

Niang signed his first professional contract with Caen on February 18, 2011. He made his debut against Toulouse in April of the same year, and scored his maiden goal for the club in a match against Lens in May 2011. His remarkable performances led to a transfer to Italian giants AC Milan in August 2012.

AC Milan and Milestone Goals

Niang netted his first goal for Milan in a Coppa Italia fixture against Reggina on December 13, 2012. At 17 years and 350 days old, he became the youngest goalscorer in the club's history. On his 18th birthday, Niang extended his contract with Milan until 2017, later extended to 2019. He donned the numbers 19, 78, 11, and 94 during his time with the Rossoneri.

Loan Spells and International Allegiance

Niang joined Montpellier on loan in January 2014 and had a stint with Genoa in the second half of the 2014/15 season. In January 2017, he was loaned to Watford in the English Premier League. He eventually signed for Torino in August 2017.

Regarding his international career, Niang initially represented France in youth teams. However, a falling out with coach Patrick Gonfalone resulted in him missing the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup. He subsequently opted to play for Senegal in October 2017. Niang made his debut for the Lions of Teranga in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde.

Personal Life and Legal Issues

Niang was arrested in Milan in 2012/13 for driving without a license.
