Michael Georgiou
Early Life and Introduction to Snooker
Michael Georgiou, a professional snooker player from Cyprus, embarked on his snooker journey in 1997. His passion for the sport led him to excel in the Under-21 World Championship in 2007, where he emerged as the victorious champion.
Professional Debut and Main Tour
Georgiou's triumph in the Under-21 World Championship propelled him into the professional ranks. In the following season, he secured a place on the main tour. However, a string of disappointing results in various ranking tournaments hampered his progress.
Transition to PIOS
Unable to establish a solid foothold in the main tour, Georgiou opted to compete in the Professional-Amateur International Open Series (PIOS) for the 2009/10 season. This decision provided an opportunity for him to gain more competitive experience and hone his skills.
