Michael Jace is an American actor best known for his roles in films such as 'State of Play', 'Planet of Apes', and 'Forrest Gump', as well as the TV series 'The Shield'. He was born in Paterson, New Jersey.

In 1992, Jace landed a role in the TV series 'Law and Order'. He also had a small role in 'L.A. Law' in 1994. That same year, he appeared in episodes of 'The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.', 'Star Trek: Deep Space Nine', and 'Chicago Hope'. He also had minor roles in the films 'Clear and Present Danger' and 'Forrest Gump'.

On May 19, 2014, Jace was arrested by the Los Angeles police after he called to report that he had shot and killed his wife, April Jace, in a domestic violence incident. The authorities found April's body and a gun believed to belong to Jace at the scene.

Jace confessed to the crime and is currently awaiting trial. The motive behind the murder remains unclear, although investigators suspect financial or family issues may have played a role. Whether it was an intentional murder or a tragic accident is yet to be determined.

Jace's two children, who witnessed the horrifying incident, were taken to the police station in an unstable condition. The whereabouts of April's third child from a previous marriage are unknown. The children were later placed in the care of a relative. Jace remains in custody without bail.
