Early Life and Career

Michael Landis was born on September 18, 1972, in Bronx, New York City. His mother, Patricia, is an interior designer, and his father, Bernard, is a marketing consultant. He got his first notable role in the series 'Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman' in 1993. The first season was received relatively calmly by the audience, but the characters played by Teri Hatcher and Dean Cain received positive reviews from critics. During this time, Landis, who brought a fresh interpretation to the character of Jimmy Olsen, a young employee of the newspaper 'Daily Planet', gathered a cult following and started to divert attention from Superman himself. In the second season, Olsen was played by Justin Whalin, and the official reason given by the creators for the replacement was Landis's resemblance to Cain.

Recent Projects

Landis also appeared in the comedy series 'The Wedding Bells' as David Conlon. However, the project did not last long, and once again, Landis settled for a decent role within the span of one season. He also portrayed Chef Danny in the sitcom 'Miranda', where his character only appeared in one episode. Some of his recent projects include the dramedy 'My Girlfriend's Boyfriend', the sports drama 'Just Wright', and the musical 'Burlesque'. After his participation in the comedy 'Best Man Down', Landis was cast in the unconventional film 'The Congress' alongside Robin Wright.

Personal Life

On October 21, 2000, Landis married actress Wendy Benson, known for her role as Julie Harris in the television biopic 'James Dean'. The couple has two children together, Mimi and Dominic.
