Biography of Michael Mantenuto
Born on May 13, 1981, in Holliston, Massachusetts, USA, Michael Mantenuto, also known as Manto, was a blue-eyed handsome hockey player with chestnut hair. His Italian surname shares a root with the English word 'maintain'. His father, Ed Mantenuto, worked as an administrator at Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough, Massachusetts, and was also a deputy director and hockey coach at Holliston High School, where his son studied. In 1993, Michael's father suffered a heart attack, which left him paralyzed and unable to speak. After years of treatment and rehabilitation, he was able to walk again and speak slowly. Michael's mother works as a therapist. In addition to Mantenuto, the family has three other children, all of his sisters. Maintaining balance on the ice and playing hockey, Michael learned from his father at an early age. As for his sisters, they have been involved in figure skating since childhood.
Hockey Career
For three years, Mantenuto played in the junior team 'Walpole' in the Eastern Hockey League. He then played for the University of Massachusetts in Boston and the University of New Hampshire before joining the University of Maine hockey team in 2000. Soon, Michael ended his hockey career and became a coach. In 2001, he transferred to the University of Massachusetts, Boston. During his studies, Michael had the opportunity to work on a fishing boat in Gloucester, Massachusetts. "I worked on a fishing boat and caught eels, and then I was invited to audition for a movie. Acting Career

During auditions, Michael got into a fight with one of the players who was harassing Mantenuto and other hockey players. Later, Manto apologized to the film's director, to which Gavin replied, "No problem, you did the right thing," and offered him the role of Jack O'Callahan, a defenseman from the American team. The film, which starred Kurt Russell as coach Herb Brooks, won the ESPY Award for "Best Sports Movie" and several other awards. In the same year, Mantenuto played himself in the 28-minute documentary film 'From Hockey to Hollywood: Actors' Journeys' (2004). The film also featured ice hockey stars Jim Craig, Mike "Rizzo" Eruzione, and Mark Johnson.
