Early Life and EducationMichael Emil Sachs was born in Hadamar, Duchy of Nassau, Germany, in 1836. He received his artistic education at the Academy in Karlsruhe from 1855 to 1858 under Johann Wilhelm Schirmer and later in Düsseldorf under O. Achenbach until 1860.
