Born on December 14, 1897, in Yalta, Russia, Kisljakov hailed from a noble family in Odessa. His early life was marked by the turmoil of war, as he served as an officer in the Don Cossack forces during World War I.
Post-War Journey
Following the defeat of the White Army, Kisljakov embarked on a journey that took him through Egypt, Latin America, Corsica, and Nice. It was on Corsica that he found solace in painting, guided by the mentorship of Italian artist Luigi Corbellini. Additionally, he engaged in the restoration of ecclesiastical murals.
Arrival in Paris and Artistic Career
In 1931, Kisljakov relocated to Paris, where he honed his skills as an artist and decorator for the Gaumont film studio. His prolific output included numerous cinema posters, establishing him as a renowned poster designer.
Subject Matter and Style
Kisljakov's artistic repertoire encompassed a wide range of subjects. He depicted urban scenes and landmarks, such as Montmartre and Parisian boulevards.
