Early LifeMichael Sorrentino, known by his nickname 'The Situation', is an American television star and model of Italian descent. He was born in West New Brighton, Staten Island, New York, and spent most of his childhood in Manalapan, New Jersey. Sorrentino completed his schooling in Manalapan.
Early Career
After working as an assistant manager at a fitness center in Staten Island, Sorrentino lost his job at the age of 25 and had to find a new path for himself. He soon began advertising underwear and was eventually invited to participate in the reality show 'Jersey Shore'.
Rise to Fame
Sorrentino's involvement in 'Jersey Shore' brought him considerable fame and he became a well-known personality. This led to invitations to appear on popular television programs such as 'The Howard Stern Show', 'The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien', 'The Jay Leno Show', 'SportsNation', 'Chelsea Lately', 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show', and 'Conan'.
Other Endeavors
Apart from his appearances on talk shows, Sorrentino also competed in the 11th season of 'Dancing with the Stars' alongside his dance partner Karina Smirnoff. In the fall of 2010, he participated in a public program called 'Pause Before You Play' with Bristol Palin. Independent news sources claim that Sorrentino earned over $5 million in 2010, making him one of the highest-paid reality show stars of the year, second only to Kim Kardashian. This substantial income came from contracts with 'Devotion Vodka' and 'Reebok Zigtech', as well as from his autobiography, a rap song, a fitness DVD, a line of vitamin supplements, a clothing line, and various television appearances. However, his book sales were disappointing, with only around 12,000 copies sold.
