Early Life and Amateur Career
Michal Jordan is a Czech professional ice hockey defenseman who was born and raised in the Czech Republic. He began his hockey career with HC Zlín, his hometown club, where he played for several years in their youth system.
Journey to North America
In 2007, Jordan left the Czech Republic and joined the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in Canada. He spent two seasons with the Spitfires, helping them reach the Memorial Cup Finals in 2009.
NHL Draft and Minor League Career
In 2008, Jordan was selected by the Carolina Hurricanes in the fourth round of the NHL Entry Draft. He was assigned to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Plymouth Whalers, for the following two seasons.
NHL Debut and International Play
In 2010, Jordan signed a two-way contract with the Carolina Hurricanes and made his NHL debut in 2012. Since then, he has split time between the Hurricanes and their AHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers. Jordan has also represented the Czech Republic at the 2014 and 2015 IIHF World Championships.
