Michel Duchaussoy was a French theater and film actor. He was born on November 29, 1938, in Valenciennes, in the Nord department of northern France, near the Belgian border. He graduated from the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in Paris and was a member of the Comédie-Française theater troupe from 1967 to 1984.

Career in Theater and Film
Michel Duchaussoy began his acting career in 1961 with a small role in the film "Private Life" directed by Louis Malle. His first significant role came in director Alain Jessua's film "Life Play." Throughout his career, he appeared in films by Claude Chabrol, Roger Vadim, Costa-Gavras, and also provided the voice for Grandpa Archibald in the series of adventures of the boy Arthur, directed by Luc Besson. He portrayed over 170 different roles in both film and television.

Awards and Recognition
Michel Duchaussoy received critical acclaim for his performances and was nominated for the César Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in "Milou in May." He was also a member of the French Coordination Committee of the international organization for cultural workers "For Peace Without Violence."
