Michelle Ayers-Brent: An American Bodybuilder
Michelle Ayers-Brent is an American bodybuilder who has turned her sport into a way of life over her 21-year career. Even during the off-season, she continues to demonstrate impressive results. While major awards have eluded her so far, Ayers-Brent is clearly satisfied with her own physique.

A Sporty Individual
Michelle Ayers-Brent has always been a very athletic person. In school, she actively participated in softball, volleyball, tennis, and hockey. In college, her time for sports was limited due to academic commitments, but she still studied physical education. This period was not a waste for her athletic career as she learned a lot about various sports and how to teach others.

A Life-Changing Encounter
After college, Ayers-Brent found herself in a lull in life. She wanted to participate in something interesting but couldn't find the right opportunity. One day, while working at a bakery, she noticed a muscular man buying cookies. Although they exchanged glances, they did not have a chance to talk. Ayers-Brent believed that he appreciated her physical appearance.

A Turning Point
Ayers-Brent's life took a turn after visiting a nearby gym with a coworker. It was conveniently located, so she agreed to go. At the gym, she met the muscular man she saw at the bakery, who was there with his wife. They were both bodybuilders and participated in couples' competitions. Ayers-Brent also met Cory Everson, 'Miss Olympia 1985,' at the gym. In this atmosphere, her love for sports was reignited. She realized that she must participate in some kind of event. She found the strength to continue her training.

Debut and Improvements
Her debut competition did not go well as she chose a competition with only two weight classes, and she lacked knowledge about the intricacies of weighing and other important aspects for a sportsman. As a result, Ayers-Brent ended up in the heavyweight category and finished in 6th place overall. However, this was enough to motivate her to continue her training.
In 1986, Ayers-Brent went through three qualification series competitions. She then won the competition in the middleweight category at the San Jose Super Cup. She also became friends with promoter Paul Love. She went on to win the Northern California Championship and the state championship, both in first place. Ayers-Brent then participated in national-level competitions, although she did not succeed and did not make it to the 'Top 15.' Despite this, she did not become discouraged and continued to compete, gradually achieving more impressive results.
Training and Nutrition
Ayers-Brent initially followed a classic '3/1' training schedule, ensuring each part of her body received a minimum of two workouts per week. She focused on the muscles she considered the weakest. Later, she modified her training routine and now trains 1-2 body parts per day using a general program for five days a week. She also incorporates cardiovascular exercises and includes exercises for her abdominal muscles in every workout.
Nutrition plays a significant role in Ayers-Brent's life. Her diet is planned to maintain a balance of 60% protein, 30% carbohydrates, and 10% fats. Even during pre-competition diets, she follows the same ratio, occasionally reducing carbohydrates temporarily and reintroducing them after competitions to restore her metabolism to its normal state. She also ensures she drinks an adequate amount of water every day.
The Importance of Supplements
Ayers-Brent did not start taking dietary supplements immediately. She only learned about them after becoming the owner of her own gym in 1996. After almost 10 years of active sports training, she began using additional supplements such as creatine, extra protein, and glutamine.
Passion and Future Goals
Ayers-Brent believes that bodybuilding is a way to maintain her physique and she is confident that this sport will allow her to keep her body in shape well into her 20s. She states that bodybuilding has a positive impact on her overall well-being and plans to continue competing in the 'Pro' category. Once she achieves this coveted title, Ayers-Brent wants to continue competing solely for her own pleasure.
A Long Career
As a professional bodybuilder, Ayers-Brent's career has spanned over 21 years. While she may not have achieved particularly impressive results, her experience is remarkable. In 2007, Ayers-Brent celebrated her 21st active year in the sport. She is determined to continue her athletic journey and believes that the end of her sporting career is still far away.
