Early Life and Education
Mikhail Nudelman was born in Kyiv, Ukraine. He immigrated to Israel in 1991 and earned a degree in economics. Notably, he worked as director of the research center at the Tel Hai Academic College and was elected to the municipal council of Kiryat Shmona in 1993.
Political Career
Nudelman is known for his political career. He was a co-founder of the Yisrael Ba'aliya party and was elected to the 14th Knesset in 1996. He also served as chairman of the parliamentary committee on science and technology, a member of the finance committee, and the environmental protection committee.
In 1999, Nudelman founded the Aliyah Movement, which later joined the Yisrael Beiteinu party. In 2001, he was elected president of the Zionist Forum. Nudelman has authored numerous laws aimed at improving the social welfare of immigrants and underprivileged populations.
Legislative Contributions
Nudelman has been instrumental in promoting environmental protection, economic growth, cultural enrichment, scientific advancement, and sports initiatives. He was a member of several parliamentary committees, including those on aliyah and absorption, science, culture, and sport, as well as education.
Vice-Speaker of the Knesset
After the Likud-Yisrael Beiteinu coalition joined the governing government, Nudelman became vice-speaker of the Knesset and joined the finance committee. Later, he joined the Kadima party in 2005 and was elected to the 17th Knesset.
