Mika Singh's musical journey began in his childhood. At the age of 8, he started learning the Indian percussion instrument tabla, and at 12, he began playing the harmonium, a wind keyboard instrument. At the age of 14, Mika learned to play the guitar. His career evolved from being a singer in the kirtan style to becoming a Bhangra/pop artist. In 1998, at the age of 21, Singh released his debut album titled "Sawan Mein Lag Gayee Aag".
