Early Life and Education
Mikhail Kuzmich, a Russian luger, was born on October 8, 1982, in Krasnoyarsk. He completed his secondary education at School No. 76 and later graduated from the Krasnoyarsk Olympic Reserve School in 2002. The same year, he enrolled at the Siberian State University of Physical Culture in Omsk, where he is currently a fifth-year student.
Sports Career
Beginnings and CoachingMikhail's journey into luging began in 1993 under the guidance of coach-instructor T.V. Kudryashova. He later trained under coach-instructor T.V. Chepurnaya. In 1999, Mikhail's promise as an athlete led to his transfer to senior coach-instructor Konstantin Borisovich Ivanov.
Competitive Achievements
During the 1997/98 season, Mikhail earned the Candidate for Master of Sports of Russia in two-man sleds. The following season, he achieved the title of Master of Sports of Russia. In 2004, he was awarded the distinction of Master of Sports of International Class.
National Team and Coaching Brigade
Currently, Mikhail is an integral member of the Russian national luge team. He trains under the guidance of a team of coaches led by K.B. Ivanov, T.V. Chepurnaya, and S.V. Rozhentsev.
