Milenko (Dino) Dvornik was a Croatian funk singer, songwriter, music producer, actor, and reality TV star. Known for his unique style and energetic performances, Dino was born in Split, Croatia (then Yugoslavia), into the family of popular Croatian actor Boris Dvornik. Alongside his older brother Dean Dvornik, he appeared in several popular TV shows and movies in the 1970s.

Early Music Career

Despite his acting background, Dino was primarily known as a musician. In the early 1990s, Dino and his brother Dean formed the pop group 'Kineski zid,' which became the first funk band in Croatia. Dino, a true perfectionist, spent countless hours in the studio perfecting his sound. However, conflicts within the group led to its quick dissolution.

Musical Influences and Popularity

Dino's music was heavily influenced by funk legends such as James Brown and Stevie Wonder. His unique playing style earned him the nickname 'King of Funk.' He was also known for constantly changing hairstyles and his fashionable and stylish clothing choices. That same year, he became one of the first Croatian celebrities to start a blog, which was later joined by his wife and his model daughter. In 2008, Dino began working on his next album, 'Pandorina kutija.' However, tragically, on September 7, 2008, just eighteen days after his forty-fourth birthday, Dino passed away in his sleep. It was later revealed that he died from an overdose of hepatitis C medication and antidepressants.
