Lambert gained fame as a finalist on the 2003 season of the reality music show "Nashville Star," where she finished in third place. She then signed a contract with Epic Records.

Early Life and Career

Miranda Lambert was born on November 10, 1983, in Longview, Texas, and grew up in Lindale, Texas. Her father, Richard Lee Lambert, a retired police officer, became a private detective after his retirement, with Miranda's mother, Beverly June Lambert, as his partner. At a young age, Lambert's father taught her how to handle firearms, and she later became an avid deer hunter.

When Lambert was nine years old, her parents took her to a concert by Garth Brooks, who was a prominent country music star in the 1990s. This concert sparked Lambert's interest in country music. Her father also wrote and performed country songs, and under his guidance, Miranda began performing at talent competitions. At the age of 16, Lambert appeared on the "Johnny High Country Music Review" in Arlington, Texas, the same show that launched LeAnn Rimes' career.

Lambert had the opportunity to record her songs in a professional studio in Nashville but left the studio disappointed with the "pop sound" of the music. She returned to Texas and asked her father to teach her how to play the guitar so she could write her own songs.
