Biography of Miroslav Vantukh

Early Life

Miroslav Vantukh was born on January 18, 1939, in the village of Velikosyolki, now part of the Kamensko-Bugsky district of Lviv Oblast, Ukraine. He is of Ukrainian descent.

Education

In 1958, Vantukh graduated from the Lviv Cultural and Educational School (1956-1958), specializing in cultural and educational work. He furthered his education by completing his studies at the Academy of Social Sciences in Moscow from 1972 to 1977.

Career

Vantukh has had a long and successful career as an artistic director and choreographer. He served as the leader of the renowned Ukrainian Dance Ensemble named after Pavlo Virsky. He also held positions as a professor and academician.

Family

Vantukh's father, Mikhail Konstantinovich (1910-1946), and mother, Maria Mikhailovna (1913-1957), played significant roles in his life. He is married to Valentina Vladimirovna, a People's Artist of Ukraine. They have two children, a daughter named Galina (born in 1974) and a son named Miroslav (born in 1979).

Awards and Honors

Throughout his career, Vantukh has received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to Ukrainian culture and dance. Some of his notable awards include the Hero of Ukraine (with the Order of State), the Order of Friendship of Peoples, the Order "For Merit" of the 2nd and 1st degrees, and the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of the 4th and 5th degrees.
