Early Life and Career

Tae-Bum Mo was born on February 15, 1989, in Seoul, South Korea. With a height of 177 cm and a weight of 72 kg, Mo stands out as a skilled sprinter on the ice. His first major competition was the 2005 South Korean Single Distance Championships, where he placed 10th in the 1000m and 3rd in the 1500m.

International Breakthrough

Mo's breakthrough came in 2006 at the Junior World Speed Skating Championships, where he finished 5th in the 500m. Later that year, he qualified for the 500m and 1000m at the South Korean Championships before claiming victories at the ISU Junior World Cup in Erfurt, Germany, in both 500m and 1500m races.

Olympic Glory

Leading up to the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, Mo had never won an adult race but reached the pinnacle of his career with a gold medal in the 500m race in a time of 00:34.923. This unexpected victory became the highlight of his 21st birthday.
