Monica Niculescu is a Romanian tennis player who has competed in several Grand Slam tournaments. She was born in the Romanian city of Slatina, but moved to Bucharest with her family at the age of four.

Early Career
Monica began playing tennis professionally in 2002, but struggled to achieve impressive results for a long time. She made her debut in a Grand Slam tournament in 2008, where she was able to reach the second round at Wimbledon. However, her progress was halted as she lost to Agnes Szavay in the second round.
