Early Life and Education
Morris Chestnut was born on April 1, 1969, in Cerritos, California. He graduated from Richard Gahr High School in 1987. He then studied finance at California State University, Northridge, while also pursuing acting.

Acting Career
Morris Chestnut's first professional role was in the television series "Freddy's Nightmares" in 1990. He gained recognition for his role as Ricky Baker in the film "Boyz n the Hood", which brought him attention in the film industry. He went on to have small roles in films such as "The Last Boyscout" and appeared in television series like "Out All Night". He gradually transitioned to supporting roles in blockbuster films like "Under Siege 2: Dark Territory" (1995) and "G.I. Jane" (1997).
